The Spirit is a musical reflection on ancient texts. The vocal melodies and musical accompaniments were created in performances that use natural instrumentation, including voice, analogue filters, violin and flute. The language in which they are sung is the same as that in which the texts were originally spoken between two and three thousand years ago, although the exact sound of the original words remains mysterious, and would have varied throughout history.
